Breast lifts continue to grow in popularity as many are choosing a breast lift over breast implants. It’s now in the Top 10 of plastic surgery procedures.
Breast Lifts have grown 70% since 2000, outpacing breast implants 2-to-1, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
There were 109,638 breast lift procedures performed in 2018, an increase of 4% over the previous year, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Although breast implants are still the No. 1 plastic surgery procedure, breast lifts are gaining ground. From 2015 to 2016, the breast lift procedure grew 15% while breast implants were only up 4%.
The age group to see the biggest increase in plastic surgery procedures was 30-39 year-olds, and they had 2.9 million total cosmetic procedures last year.
Why are beast lifts so popular?
Many women feel uncomfortable and self-conscious when their breasts begin to sag because of age, pregnancy or heredity as well as other factors. Improving the shape and raising their breasts raises confidence and overall happiness with their body. The breast lift will help reshape and raise the breasts to improve the contour although it doesn’t increase the breast size.
A breast lift procedure is the process of tightening the tissue surrounding the breasts by removing excess skin. This reshapes and supports the new contour of your breasts.
It’s important to choose an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon who you feel comfortable with to perform the procedure. You want to make sure they get to know you and your goals so they can meet your needs.
